3rd Annual Advertising
and Marketing Communications Conference kicks off beginning November 2007
(Amman, 22 October, 2007): The International Advertising Association – Jordan
Chapter (IAA Jordan) announced that the Third Annual Advertising and Marketing
Communications Conference “Box Basics” will be held on November 6th and 7th,
under the patronage of His Excellency Naser Judeh, the Official Spokesman for
the Jordanian Government. The Conference, which will take place at the Grand
Hyatt Amman Hotel, will host a number of top industry professionals and speakers
from around the globe.
“IAA Jordan is organizing the Annual Advertising and Marketing Communications
Conference for the third consecutive year after the huge success achieved in the
last two Conferences,” said Mustapha Tabba, IAA Jordan President. “We feel that
the event is contributing effectively in supporting the local industry, which is
witnessing exponential growth, year after year.
The upcoming conference adopts the slogan ‘Box Basics’ as a call for industry
professionals to ensure that the basics and essentials are all in place when
moving “Outside the Box,” said Ruba Batayneh, Head of the Conference committee.
“It is imperative for businesses to have dazzling campaigns that will raise
their profile and showcase their different offerings, but efficiency is a smart
combination of creativity and effectiveness. This is the understanding that ‘Box
Basics’ attempts to introduce to participants who, nowadays, look for artistic
knowledge that works,” added Batayneh.
‘Box Basics’ will give participants the opportunity to explore the latest
trends, tools and developments in the industry of advertising and marketing
communications. The Conference is expected to host 16 speakers from the UK, the
UAE, Australia, Canada, Switzerland, USA, Turkey, and Jordan as well as other
parts of the globe representing various sectors and industries such as real
estate, telecommunications, banking and media.
Tabba pointed out that participants will be reminded throughout the conference
of the crucial role advertising and marketing communications play in building
brand equity as well as the sector’s great contribution to the Kingdom’s
economy, forecasting an industry size of $300 million by end of 2007.
‘Box Basics’ will address different topics from marketing and branding of luxury
brands, telecom and real estate, as well as tackling basic issues of the
industry such as copywriting, brand loyalty and budgeting for campaigns. The
conference will also include a review of award winning ads of the year.
“IAA Jordan consistently seeks to understand the needs of the market and promote
the best practices of this industry, assisting in the improvement of critical
skills amongst professionals. We hope that this year’s conference meets the
expectations of the participants, giving them a clear vision on the latest cults
and information related to the advertising and marketing communications
industry,” concluded Tabba.
The conference enjoys widespread support from the local industry with Al Rai
daily newspaper as the platinum sponsor and the two local telecoms Orange and
Zain as Gold sponsors. Al Faridah Publishing and Al Kawn which owns several
