3rd Annual Advertising and Marketing Communications Conference kicks off beginning November 2007

(Amman, 22 October, 2007): The International Advertising Association – Jordan Chapter (IAA Jordan) announced that the Third Annual Advertising and Marketing Communications Conference “Box Basics” will be held on November 6th and 7th, under the patronage of His Excellency Naser Judeh, the Official Spokesman for the Jordanian Government. The Conference, which will take place at the Grand Hyatt Amman Hotel, will host a number of top industry professionals and speakers from around the globe.

“IAA Jordan is organizing the Annual Advertising and Marketing Communications Conference for the third consecutive year after the huge success achieved in the last two Conferences,” said Mustapha Tabba, IAA Jordan President. “We feel that the event is contributing effectively in supporting the local industry, which is witnessing exponential growth, year after year.

The upcoming conference adopts the slogan ‘Box Basics’ as a call for industry professionals to ensure that the basics and essentials are all in place when moving “Outside the Box,” said Ruba Batayneh, Head of the Conference committee. “It is imperative for businesses to have dazzling campaigns that will raise their profile and showcase their different offerings, but efficiency is a smart combination of creativity and effectiveness. This is the understanding that ‘Box Basics’ attempts to introduce to participants who, nowadays, look for artistic knowledge that works,” added Batayneh.

‘Box Basics’ will give participants the opportunity to explore the latest trends, tools and developments in the industry of advertising and marketing communications. The Conference is expected to host 16 speakers from the UK, the UAE, Australia, Canada, Switzerland, USA, Turkey, and Jordan as well as other parts of the globe representing various sectors and industries such as real estate, telecommunications, banking and media.

Tabba pointed out that participants will be reminded throughout the conference of the crucial role advertising and marketing communications play in building brand equity as well as the sector’s great contribution to the Kingdom’s economy, forecasting an industry size of $300 million by end of 2007.
‘Box Basics’ will address different topics from marketing and branding of luxury brands, telecom and real estate, as well as tackling basic issues of the industry such as copywriting, brand loyalty and budgeting for campaigns. The conference will also include a review of award winning ads of the year.

“IAA Jordan consistently seeks to understand the needs of the market and promote the best practices of this industry, assisting in the improvement of critical skills amongst professionals. We hope that this year’s conference meets the expectations of the participants, giving them a clear vision on the latest cults and information related to the advertising and marketing communications industry,” concluded Tabba.

The conference enjoys widespread support from the local industry with Al Rai daily newspaper as the platinum sponsor and the two local telecoms Orange and Zain as Gold sponsors. Al Faridah Publishing and Al Kawn which owns several radio stations also accompany the Gold Sponsors. Ipsos, a research company and the advertising agency Publicis support the event as Silver sponsors and AGA Profess Graphics and the weekly classified Al Waseet as Bronze sponsors.
